Konecranes Launches AI Assistant for Maintenance and Lifecycle Planning

Konecranes has launched its Portal AI Assistant globally for Industrial Service & Equipment customers. The tool brings together equipment condition, service and operational data to support maintenance and lifecycle planning.

The Konecranes Portal includes information on equipment, spare parts, service history, inspections and sensor data. The new AI assistant combines this information with recommendations generated by the Konecranes Lifecycle Engine.

The system considers factors including equipment type, operating environment, duty, usage, service history, regulatory requirements and OEM recommendations.

“Customers already have access to a significant amount of equipment and service information. Portal AI Assistant helps them see what matters most, so they can make more informed maintenance and lifecycle decisions,” says Johannes Grönroos, Head of Konecranes Customer Portals.

“Instead of spending time searching through reports and records, customers can focus on identifying priorities and planning actions.”

Comparing risks and service costs

According to Konecranes, a maintenance manager can use the assistant to identify assets with open risks across several locations, investigate related findings and review recommended actions. The tool can also be used to compare service spending between assets or locations.

Users can ask questions in multiple languages within a single conversation.

The assistant operates under the same security and access controls as the Konecranes Portal. Users can access only the data they are authorised to view. Konecranes says that customer data remains isolated and is not used to train AI models.

The assistant retrieves information from defined backend systems. Its answers can be traced to the customer’s own records, allowing users to verify the underlying findings and data directly in the Konecranes Portal.
