North Carolina State University and Marshall Institute Announce Expansion of Popular Diploma
North Carolina State University (NC State) and Marshall Institute, Inc. announce San Diego, CA as the second U.S. city to host their Advanced Diploma in Maintenance and Reliability Management (MRM). For six years, the three-module diploma has been delivered exclusively at the NC State campus in Raleigh, NC. The introduction of San Diego as the second location meets the needs of the growing student body of national and international industry leaders.
In addition to San Diego’s geographic convenience for the West Coast and international participants, the great year-round climate leads to more reliable travel schedules and welcome breaks from winter weather.
- The Advanced Diploma in Maintenance and Reliability Management has increased in popularity over the years due to the universal need for companies to save money by having their employees trained properly. To date, we have trained hundreds of maintenance professionals throughout the United States and the demand for this course has resulted in many international participants attending, says Chip Futrell, Director of Continuing and Professional Education, NC State.
– Expanding to the West Coast will enable us to connect to companies in the western half of the United States and give our international participants a choice in location. We're grateful that industry has responded to this program and we look forward to serving new audiences, Futrell adds.
The diploma program offers a combination of education and networking designed to enhance the professional performance and career advancement of the participants.
– The diploma has become synonymous with real-world impact and performance improvement. Education must lead to performance improvement. We are proud that our graduates are converting their educational experience into reliability improvements and career progression, Tom Furnival, Director of Training Services, Marshall Institute, Inc. says.
Recognizing the constraints and challenges for working professionals, participants are given three years to complete all three modules and associated tests to earn their diploma. The flexible diploma program also allows participants to choose the order in which they complete the modules.
– The Diploma program was designed to enhance the performance of hard-working reliability professionals by sharing proven strategies, practices and tools. The partnership of a celebrated engineering university and a global leader in maintenance and reliability services results in a flexible world-class educational experience and valuable real-world diploma, says MRM graduate Chuck Jarrell.
