Honeywell and Google Cloud Are Accelerating Autonomous Operations with AI Agents in the Industrial Sector
The companies announced a collaboration to connect AI agents to assets, people and processes to accelerate safer and more autonomous operations in the industrial sector.
The collaboration combines Gemini's multimodality and natural language capabilities in Vertex AI - Google Cloud's AI platform - with the massive data sets of Honeywell Forge, the leading Internet of Things (IoT) platform for industry. This will enable easy-to-understand, enterprise-wide insights across a wide range of use cases. Honeywell's industrial customers benefit from opportunities to reduce maintenance costs, increase operational productivity and train employees. The first solutions built with Google Cloud AI will be available to Honeywell customers in 2025.

According to Honeywell's Industrial AI Insights 2024 report, more than two-thirds (82%) of industrial AI leaders believe their companies are early adopters of AI, but only 17% have fully launched their first AI plans. This partnership will provide AI agents to complement existing operations and workforce to drive AI adoption and enable industry to benefit from expanding automation.

Powered by Google Cloud's Vertex AI search and tailored to the specific needs of engineers, the new AI-enabled agent helps automate tasks and shorten project planning cycles, allowing users to focus on driving innovation and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
The additional agents leverage Google's Large Language Models (LLM) to help technicians resolve service issues faster (e.g., "How did the unit perform last night?"). "How do I replace an input/output module?" or 'Why is my system making this noise?'). By taking advantage of Gemini's multimodality capabilities, users can process a variety of data types, including images, videos, text and sensor readings, helping its engineers get the answers they need quickly - beyond just conversations and predictions.
