EU-OSHA has just ended their “Safe Maintenance” campaign and will begin a new campaign in April entitled “Working together for risk prevention”. EFNMS wholeheartedly supports this initiative; the reduction of accidents is after all, one of our main targets.
In this issue of MaintWorld we have articles on Safety & Health in Maintenance, an important topic covered earlier in previous issues. Continuing this theme, this issue includes an article from the agricultural sector; you will also find a review of the results and interviews from the “Healthy Workplaces Summit”, which took place last November in Bilbao.
The Lithuanian Maintenance Society, which joined EFNMS last November in the General Assembly meeting in Barcelona is also introduced in this issue. We are delighted with the great interest shown in our association with other European countries.
During the GA meeting in Barcelona the, EFNMS delegates also decided to renew the constitution of the federation in order to make it more attractive among the maintenance community in Europe. In 2012 the federation will have the chance to discuss “Asset Management”, in particular the management of physical assets, and within this context the difference between “Maintenance Management” and “Asset Management”. I’m looking forward to the results of this discussion.
If you are interested in discussing the above mentioned issues online you can find EFNMS on Twitter or on LinkedIn.
We hope you decide to join us on the above media groups and we look forward to seeing you there.
