Lithuanian Maintenance Association Joins EFNMS News from the EFNMS Meeting in Barcelona
The European Federation of National Maintenance Societies (EFNMS) held its General Assembly (GA) meeting in Barcelona in the middle of November. The General Assembly of EFNMS meets twice annually and it is the place where all the major decisions are made. The meeting was hosted by the Spanish Maintenance Association AEM. The meeting took place in the Catalonia Diagonal Centro Hotel in the heart of Barcelona.
The 18th GA meeting assembled all 22 National Societies together. The meeting started with the hosting organization AEM presenting their achievements and ideas. Then all National Societies presented their status and plans for the future. It was encouraging to learn that national societies had received positive feedback from their members about MaintWorld.
Paul Daugalis, the Chairman of the Lithuanian Maintenance societies (LTPIA) presented the history and future plans of their society. Paul had interesting visions for the Lithuanian society. For more information please have a look at the short introduction about LTPIA in the separate box. After the interesting presentation it was time for the voting of LTPIA joining EFNMS. It was decided that LTPIA can join EFNMS on the usual trial period of 3 years. EFNMS community is proud to have the enthusiastic Lithuanian society as a part of the EFNMS community.
Next on the agenda was the Committees who presented their report about their meetings held the previous day. The committees also participated in committee meetings on Thursday to discuss their work. All groups appeared to be eager to work together to communicate their subjects to the wider audience, for instance by writing articles for MaintWorld magazine.

Arjo Klijn from Salvetti Foundation presented the situation with the Maintenance Awards. The presentation of this year’s winners will happen during the opening session of Euromaintenance Congress that will be organized in Serbia May 14th to 16th 2012. The categories are EUROMAINTENANCE Incentive Award, EFNMS Excellence Award for Master Thesis in Maintenance and Best Papers Award, 5 BP (five best papers). At the meeting, Marketing and Communication Officer Göran Westerholm presented the new logo and graphical outlook for EFNMS. The project of the renewal of the logo started because the old logo was in need of modernization. The new logo was appreciated and acknowledged by the GA. The result is a new, fresh and united look for EFNMS.
